Welcome

Welcome to Light Prints in Darkness

I am using this platform as another way to gain an audience for my practise of writing and creating art as Advocacy of the conditions I live with, and as a form of self-exploration, discovery and reflection.

My name is Nadeen an Australian born Artist who is self-taught. I use art as a tool to rewire Neural pathways, to self-reflect and to create awareness. I started this journey in 2022 as a heavy, quick and aggressive onset of Functional Neurological Disorder and Dysautonomia changed my life forever, already living with other disabilities such as a limb difference from birth, Scoliosis and I also have a past history of adverse childhood vents which led to developing Cptsd. I am no stranger to disability and my previous work before onset was within the disability sector.

I used Art as a tool to relearn how to work with a body that faulters and glitches which I will touch on in my other posts. because of the raw nature of the way I presented my work on my private Instagram a lovely curator who had an onset herself of FND and Dysautonomia asked me to be a part of an Exhibit in 2024 which had a big impact, we are now a collective of artists who share our varied experiences with disability and chronic illness via art. Currently we are a part of a two-year tour via Art on The Move 2025-2027 and are also up as a separate exhibit in Denmark, WA.

Within this blog I will post reflections of my collections and my emotional landscapes, struggles and thoughts surrounding the time of the collections. I will also post about subjects for example, Flares, Accepting the Diagnosis and Learning to Pace.
